From: The Commanding Officer 2/17th Cavalry (Iraq)
To: 2/17th Cavalry Alumni, Friends & Relatives
We,
2-17th Cavalry, are responsible for a local village.
The village is called “Stela” and it’s about 4 miles northwest of
the airfield where we currently reside. The
village has a population of about 500 with a school age population of nearly
200. The Sheik of the village and I
have developed a great working relationship.
We recently built the village a new school that has 8 rooms and
playground equipment. The teacher
asked for some supplies that I believe can be filled thru donations from willing
Americans or Alumni desiring to help. The
list is as follows:
-notebooks
-paper/construction
paper
-writing
utensils
-chalk
-scissors
-glue
-office
supplies - 3-hole binders
- staplers
- paper clips
- tape
-sports
equipment, i.e. soccer balls, basketballs, etc.
-TV,
VCR and or DVD
-Used
sneakers, shoes, or clothes are also in dire need.
If
anyone desires to send over a uniform and sponsor a the village’s soccer team,
20-30 jerseys would be great. The
donated items can be sent to:

Thanks
for your support and dedication to the 2-17th Alumni
